What exactly is Tuition Log?

Tuition Log is a lightweight, Notion-style memory and ledger system built specifically for private tutors. Instead of juggling spreadsheets, WhatsApp chats, and notebooks, you type one quick post-lesson note into the system.

From that single note, Tuition Log builds a student timeline, tracks scores, extracts actionable to-do list items, manages prepaid lesson balances, and generates professional summaries for parents.

Is there a free tier?

Yes! Our Free Plan is completely free forever. It allows you to actively manage up to 3 students, complete with timeline tracking, the to-do list manager, and the payments ledger.

What do I get if I upgrade to Pro? ✨ PRO

For just £25/year, the Pro tier unlocks the platform's full potential for serious tutors:

  • Unlimited Students: Manage your entire roster without limits.
  • Auto-Deductions: Set a session rate, and the system automatically deducts from the student's prepaid balance every time you log a lesson.
  • Translated Updates: Set a parent's preferred language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin), and the AI will automatically generate your WhatsApp updates in their native language.
  • Custom Memory Rules: Tell the AI exactly what you want it to look for (e.g., "Always track 11+ mock test scores" or "Remind me if they struggle with fractions"), and it will automatically highlight those in the memory snapshot.
How do Parent Updates work?

When you save a rough lesson note, our system instantly cleans it up and generates a polite, professional summary perfect for sending to parents. You can copy the draft with one click and paste it directly into WhatsApp or an email.

How does the Payments Ledger handle balances?

You log bulk payments (e.g., £200 for a block of 5 lessons) in the ledger, and the system adds it to the student's balance. If you are on the Pro tier, simply logging a lesson will automatically subtract your session rate from that balance. When the balance drops into the negative, it turns red so you instantly know it's time to invoice!

Data & Security
Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We use enterprise-grade Row Level Security (RLS). This means that at the database level, your records are cryptographically locked to your specific account. No other tutor can ever view, edit, or access your students or notes.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You own your data. You can visit the Settings page inside the app at any time to download a complete CSV backup of your student roster, lesson timelines, payments, and to-do lists.
